UN Security Council Condemns Tragic Death of WFP Staff Member

In New York, members of the UN Security Council officially discussed the tragic death of one of the employees of the World Program for Development, which ended on February 10 of this year, while under the guard of the custodians, and expressed deep concerns about his family and the Organization of United Nations.

The president of the Security Council this month is the permanent representative of China to the UN, envoy Fu Cong, who together with the members of the Security Council expressed harsh statements regarding the continued detention of UN employees by the custodians, as well as national and international non-governmental organizations, civil society and diplomatic missions.

The Security Council called for immediate and unconditional release of all detained custodians, emphasizing that all threats that have been addressed to these individuals are "unacceptable."
